The space between

Sometimes described as a liminal space, a threshold where change is unfolding, even if the destination isn't yet clear.

This in-between space is about more than changing thoughts or behaviours. It's about discovering who we're becoming.

Psychology-informed coaching for busy professionals navigating periods of change through a whole-person approach to psychology, physiology and environment.

Together, we'll create the space to pause, reflect and explore what matters most to you.

Life's transitions aren't simply something to get through. They invite us to create the conditions for what wants to emerge.

Is this you?

Perhaps you're feeling stuck. From the outside, it looks as though you're coping, yet something feels different on the inside. You may be navigating a career change, stepping into a new role or finding that a promotion feels different from what you expected. You may be returning to work after time away, adjusting to changes in your health, relationships or family life, or feeling that you've outgrown a role, routine or way of life.

You might be questioning your direction, purpose or what's next, feeling pulled between competing responsibilities, sensing that something needs to change, even if you're not yet sure what, or simply feeling ready for a different way forward. More than anything, you may be looking for a gentle space to pause and think, rather than being told what to do, so you can move forward in a way that feels more aligned with who you are today.

Slowing down isn't about switching off, it's about creating the space to think more clearly, understand more deeply and move forward with intention. Sometimes, the next chapter of our lives doesn't begin by doing more. It begins by creating the space to pause, reflect and discover what wants to emerge.

If this resonates with you, you're in the right space.

About Me

I'm Dr Dimple Devadas, London, UK based psychology-informed coach, medical doctor and accredited lifestyle medicine physician with over 25 years' clinical experience in healthcare. My clinical experience has given me a deep appreciation of the interconnected relationship between psychology, physiology and environment. Today, I bring these perspectives together to support professionals navigating periods of change through a whole-person, evidence-informed approach. Alongside my work, I've been featured on Channel 4, in the Daily Mail and international media, spoken at TEDx, the Houses of Parliament, the Barbican and the National Theatre, contributed to exhibitions with the WHO and the UN, and am a published author and award-winning educator.

The Volve way

My approach. The name Volve is inspired by a historic English word meaning to ponder. Its deeper Latin root, volvere, means to turn or to unfold. To me, these meanings reflect the essence of life's transitions. They invite us to pause and ponder where we are, remain present with our experience, and gently turn towards what comes next. I believe transitions are not simply something to get through. They offer a space for reflection, understanding and the possibility of something new unfolding. Through a whole-person approach that brings together psychology, physiology and the environments we live and work in, I offer a thoughtful, evidence-informed space to explore change with curiosity, clarity and compassion.

I help busy professionals with:

  • Stress and burnout

  • Health and wellbeing

  • Weight management

  • Menopause

  • Lifestyle change

  • Emotional wellbeing

  • Professional development and personal growth

My specialist interest is psychology-informed coaching for professionals navigating periods of transition and change.

Psychology

How we think, feel and make meaning of our experiences. We can explore thoughts, emotions and patterns, recognising that many reflect the ways we've learned to adapt and can be approached with curiosity

Lifestyle

How the body responds to and adapts during periods of change. We can explore nervous system regulation, grounding, mindfulness and lifestyle factors that support adaptation, health and wellbeing

Environment

The people, places, routines and systems that shape our everyday experience. We can explore how our environment influences wellbeing, supports adaptation and shapes the way we experience periods of change

Every transition brings a space between what was and what's next. You don't have to navigate it alone. I offer a thoughtful, evidence-informed space to pause, reflect and explore what feels right for you. Frequently asked questions

What is Psychology Coaching

It is a proactive, results focused, and client centred applied discipline that encourages sustainable change through new ways of thinking. It is typically a non-directive form of facilitation of learning and development and focuses clients on the present and the future to generate relevant solutions. It aims to facilitate better understanding of and better interventions to support improvement in the thinking, acting and wellbeing of human beings.

The defining feature of coaching psychology is that it draws on theories and evidence of the psychological mechanisms of human functioning. This psychological underpinning enables practitioners to engage with the unacknowledged or underdeveloped capacities of clients to facilitate learning, development, growth, skill sets, performance and/or levels of wellbeing.

Coaching Psychology is 'the scientific study and application of behaviour, cognition and emotion to deepen our understanding of individuals’ and groups’ performance, achievement and wellbeing, and to enhance practice within coaching'.

Source: The British Psychological Society

A integrative approach draws from multiple psychological and therapeutic traditions (such as Psychodynamic, humanistic cognitive-behavioral techniques, mindfulness, positive psychology, and somatic awareness), and blends them with coaching tools like goal-setting, accountability, and strengths-based development.
